[Fink-beginners] gnome

I installed metacity wm as the fink info says that gnome is dependent 
on it. Still no launch of gnome dektop. I did find out that starting 
kde in metacity causes  metacity to crash after kde is up.
I start kde sessions with "startkde". My "bundle-gnome" is outdated 
(binary version installed). could that be it?
