[Fink-beginners] Circular Dependency in KDE?

Trying to remove the KDE suite gently, i.e., without breaking 
dependencies, I finally got down to:

 koffice-common depends on karbon.
...
 karbon depends on koffice-common (>= 1.2.90-4).
Is this as circular as it appears? Can anything be done about it? Is 
talking to the KDE people like fighting City Hall?
