Robert suggested to me earlier that I run "fink reinstall fink" when I was unable to upgrade. I had previously changed the Distribution line in my fink.conf file to 10.2-gcc3.3 trying to get fink selfupdate to download things from that tree, although I don't know if that's a needed step or not (I'm leaning towards not). It seems to have worked for me, although I've got lots of other problems with fink and XDarwin right now. :)
