[Fink-beginners] Remove AppleX

Okay I received my answer yesterday about what I was trying to 
accomplish, it won't work with Apples X installed. Okay no problem I 
really do not care which version of X I use just so that I have a 
version. Thus I want to remove Apple X windows and install the fink 
version. Now I want to do this correctly so my plan is as follows:

1. drag apple x windows to trash, empty trash
2. use fink and install x
3. try to install the apps I have been missing since panther!!!
If the experts here could review/bless and comment on these steps I 
would greatly appreciate it.
