I have a tiBook500, which has Ctrl-Opt-Comm--spaaaace--Enter-Option.

Somehow, when I start XDarwin, the option keys function like control.
But only in the sense that I can do commandline editing with them (in rxvt); emacs doesn't understand them.
Now, I have a settings file for xmodmap that flips option / control, and after that the option keys *are* properly understood by emacs.


Can someone explain that? Here's what the console log shows on start of xdarwin:
