I don't either--I do have /usr/lib/libdl.dylib and /sw/lib/libdl.0.dylib -- Alexander Hansen Levitated Dipole Experiment http://www.psfc.mit.edu/LDX

I finally managed to reinstall the XTools with X11 SDK but the folder wasn't made nevertheless.

Maybe that's an issue for OpenOffice....
I installed the openoffice binaries (ooo103darwingm.dmg.gz) from the web.
After telling the installation-procedure to use fink's x11 i get the following error message on starting "Start OpenOffice.org.app":
----8<---- Could not launch OpenOffice.org
salogl.xx/GetOGLFnc(): could not load .symbol glFlush dyld: /Users/mdeluigi/Library/ Preferences/OpenOffice.org1.0.3/ probram/soffice.bin Undefined symbols: OpenGL undefined reference to _gll_noop expected to be defined in /usr/X11R6/ lib/libGL.dylib OpenGL undefined reference to _gll_pkey expected to be defined in /usr/X11R6/ lib/libGL.dylib ---->8----
I'm using a PowerBook with Mac OS X.3 Panter.
Greetings, Marcus
I have OO 1.0.3 running on Panther, using Apple's X11. I needed to create two symlinks in /usr/local/lib to help it find the libraries it needs:
[PowerMac:/usr/local/lib] kwh% ls -l
[0mtotal 0
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 21 Nov 22 10:33 libdl.0.dylib -> /sw/lib/libdl.0.dylib
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 52 Nov 22 10:31 libdl.dylib -> /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.3.0.sdk/usr/lib/libdl.dylib
I've also got ghostscript installed in /usr/local, but I don't recall whether I did that for open office or not.
