Greetings I've decided that I'd like to to just scrap all of fink and reinstall the whole thing from scratch. I'm on a G4 Quicksilver 933 running OS X 10.3.2, and have installed the Apple X11, XCode, and the X11SDK that came with 10.3. I know I can do $ sudo rm -rf /sw to remove /sw, but what else do I need to remove to get rid of all traces of fink and X11? I'd like to make it as if I'm installing it all from scratch on a new 10.3.2 machine. I assume I'll need to remove fink and all X11 stuff and then reinstall the Apple X11 and the X11SDK, and then install fink and the binary packages I want. Is that right? [AKH>] You don't really need to remove X11 if you don't want to, but it may not be a bad idea, particularly if you upgraded from 10.2 and had an X11 beta installed. Also, I know that 10.3 is supposed to use the bash shell by default, but when I do $ echo $SHELL I get [217cpe217:~] fbparker% echo $SHELL /bin/tcsh Is this a problem? If so, how do I change my default shell to bash? [AKH>] It's not a problem, but you can change it in the Netinfo Manager utility (under /Applications/Utilities): A window should pop up. Select 'users', then select your user account, and then select 'shells'--you may have to click the lock and give your admin password to make changes. Any help is appreciated! -Bo Parker [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
