I tried that and no luck. Same exact behavior. There's something
screwy with xmms 1.2.7-13 it seems. Opening the xmms Preferences
(ctrl-P) and clicking either Accept or OK actually crashes the
program. Same behavior when installed from source or binary.

Also, using xmms-config, I see, e.g.,

        217cpe217:~ fbparker$ xmms-config --output-plugin-dir
        /sw/lib/xmms/Output
        217cpe217:~ fbparker$

And that is indeed the correct location for xmms output plugins,
and the plugins are in that directory.
