The installer method you use is irrelevant--both run the same file (pathsetup.command).

The message you received tells what the problem is: you are calling an alias that doesn't work. Check whatever startup file you are using (.cshrc, .tcshrc, ...) for calls to "alias"

Hello list,

When I run the command:

open /sw/bin/pathsetup.command

I get the following message in a new terminal window:
------
alias: No match.

Your startup scripts contain an error. I am giving up. Bye.

I looked in the documentation for troubleshooting tips and found section 2.3
at: http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/users-guide/install.php#setup

Followed these instructions, but it made no difference.

This error also happens when I try to install using the binary installer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? OS X 10.2.8 / Dual G4 1.25mhz

TIA,
Rob Cummings
