I'm starting to get really discouraged.
Can someone point me to a web site that explains how fonts in X11 work, and specifically how Fink/Apple X11 implement and deal with them?
I just want my apps to look the way I want!

Well, after several attempted starts and with my not doing ANYTHING that I thought would "fix" it, gnome-session finally started! It doesn't like two displays though...not at ALL...
I guess What I really need to get my brain wrapped around is the whole concept of window manager vs. desktop, etc.
