Hi,
Mac OS 10.2.8 iBook G3 700 MHz
I've installed Fink's XFree86-base 4.2.1.1-16 and accompanying packages. When I type "startx", I get:
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx: line 49: syntax error near unexpected token `''' /usr/X11R6/bin/startx: line 49: ` XCOMM '' required to prevent cpp from treating "/*" as a C comment.'
The only other post I've seen about this has been someone running Panther, who was told they were running the wrong version of XFree86 (only 4.3.x works on Panther). But if I'm still in 10.2-land, what is it that I need to do? Should I uninstall this version and go with Xfree86 4.3.x? Or can I just somehow tweak the startx script?
Replace "XCOMM" by "#".
