Tried to install gramps from binary. Installed a couple of packages incl X11, then installed the rest at once. Got:
:Setting up gnome-print (0.36-2) ... :Error: ghostscript was found, but appeared to have no font :Error: information. Please file a bug report (see bugs.gnome.org) :Error: and include the verbatim output of "gs -h". Thanks. :Warning: I'll try to limp on... Then it went all to pieces, scanned some /sw/share/fonts paths and got some "unsuccessful stat:" Then it did a lot of buidling fonts and then: :Done :Sorting Type1 aliases... Done :NO FONTS :Info: running "/sw/bin/gnome-font-install --debug --clean -- recursive --dynamic --target=/sw/etc/gnome/fonts/gnome-print- x11.fontmap --aliases=/sw/share/fonts/adobe-urw.font --aliases=/sw/ share/fonts/adobe-urw.font --aliases=/sw/share/gnome/fonts/adobe- urw.font /sw/share/fonts/afms /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts". Then there is a whole lot more font building with eventually another NO FONTS, and it goes on and on till: Done Sorting Type1 aliases... Done NO FONTS Info: running "/sw/bin/gnome-font-install --debug --clean --recursive --dynamic --target=/sw/etc/gnome/fonts/gnome-print-x11.fontmap -- aliases=/sw/share/fonts/adobe-urw.font --aliases=/sw/share/fonts/ adobe-urw.font --aliases=/sw/share/gnome/fonts/adobe-urw.font /sw/ share/fonts/afms /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts". more lines like that. Right at the end it has a problem with the glibtool dependency. I found a refernce inthe mailing list to libtool14, so installed that, and then it immediately went on to setting up gnome-python and then gramps, but got some more OMF file errors. Gramps now works, but when I click onthe documentation (Manual) menu item, nothing happens, so I suspect that not everything is correctly installed (especially as some of the problems were around docbook etc). What should I do to get it all correctly installed? (I have pages of the log file if you want it) Regards, Tim. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
