Now dselect works (install and all) but fink list and a fresh install of Commander both turn up the old package list of 49.
It may be that the Distribution line in /sw/etc/fink.conf hasn't been updated to read 10.2-gcc3.3 --that would explain the problem with "fink list".
For Fink Commander, my recollection is that people who had this problem removed the preference file and also replaced the app.
