This is due to a bug in freetype2 (or freetype2-hinting). What version
do you have installed.

No, it is due to the fact that the @$!@&#@ xfree86 and xorg packages
still have not been made backward compatible with the packages that want
to use freetype2 from X11. Maybe the maintainer needs a wakeup call :-)


The Fink freetype2 packages don't play any role here.

So I guess I just hang tight for now? Thanks for the effort Brian



Yeah--new X.org/XFree86 packages are being worked on.
