I reinstalled my x11sdk from my xcode cd but still unable to get any sound from X11 apps like xmms, xscorch etc. The only thing I have will here sound through is the KDE system sound test. Do I need to install xfree86 or any other basic package to get this to work??

Thanks,

Rand

By not working I mean't that the xmms loads up and looks like it operates but there is no sound. I have looked for the output plugin option to select esound but that plugin is not available. Maybe I am not installing by source correctly. Last time I removed xmms and tried to install it from fink by source, it said that I need to install 5 packages, one of which is xfree86. From what I have read I shouldn't need to install it since I am running 10.3.8 with x11.

Thanks for the quick reply and any help you can give.

Ah You have to install the X11SDK package from Xcode if you want to install anything from source that uses X11.
