Yes, but it also looks like he was trying to upgrade the -ssl version over the non-ssl version. It replaces/conflicts enough to get that far, but then bombs out because there's really no way to design these packages to allow an update like that.

Unless I am mistaken, I was not trying to upgrade the postgresql74-ssl-shlibs from the non-ssl version. Non-ssl version was not even installed.

I run into the similar problem updating postgresql-ssl-shlibs previously, and I tried dpkg -remove --force-depends and fink install, which worked but not this update.

Robert suggested dpkg -i --force-overwirte which did the job by over-writing several filies;

Unpacking postgresql74-ssl-shlibs (from .../postgresql74-ssl-shlibs_7.4.7-12_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...

As mentioned earlier, I did not install postgresql74 but Fink apparently thinks it is installed which may be due to what Alex suggests. Funny, when I try to install postgresql74 or postgresql74-ssl, it asks me to install the shilbs first.

Anyway, thanks for all the help.
