That would be cool, but how would I get started doing
something like that?

Okay, I took /sw/include out of my path and then went
to your link and because I use bash I put:

export CFLAGS=-I/sw/include
export LDFLAGS=-L/sw/lib
export CXXFLAGS=$CFLAGS
export CPPFLAGS=$CXXFLAGS
export ACLOCAL_FLAGS="-I /sw/share/aclocal"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/sw/lib/pkgconfig"

into my /etc/profile file. So now with these new
parameters should I take the rest of the /sw stuff out
of my path or leave it?

So I restarted (I am not sure how to reload my system
profile) and then ran ./compile again. It found popt!
hurray! but now I have a new error. lol. Always so
many.

checking for poptGetContext in -lpopt... yes
checking for intltool >= 0.23... 0.31.2 found
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error:
XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool
dhcp-185:~/download/e16menuedit2-0.0.2 patrick$

Okay, so now I go to fink and there are three
different xml parsers 560 561 and 586. do I install
all of them or just one, which one?

Thanks so much for your help so far.

the BLUE pill?" - Cypher from the MATRIX
