When I launch KDE via X11 for the firsr time I got what looked like a
KDE welcome screen but all the text was missing replaced by small squares!
Run the following two commands. One of them is probably sufficient, but
it could be either one:
sudo chown -R $USER ~/.qt
sudo fc-cache
Now if I try and launch KDE again nothing happens via X11.
If I try and manually launch via Terminal I got the following:-
Karl-Coopers-Computer:~ kcooper$ /sw/bin/startkde
/usr/X11R6/bin/xmodmap: unable to open display ''
[]
kdeinit: Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.
Just set it: export DISPLAY=:0
