Hello,
In connection with my previous post in which I updated (mistakenly) Evolution 1.4 to 1.5 and then removed 1.5 and reinstalled 1.4, I googled the error message: "evolution can't open library: /sw/lib/libsoup-2.0.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap",
and found that one person got it to work by creating symlinks to the newer versions in /sw/lib. I did so and kept trying to start Evolution, each time getting a message regarding another .dylib file. I kept creating symlins for each and trying to start until:
"brianoke% evolution
dyld: evolution can't open library: /sw/lib/libgal-2.0.6.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap
[Brian-OKeefes-Computer:/sw/lib] brianoke% sudo ln -s libgal-2.2.0.dylib libgal-2.0.6.dylib
Password:
[Brian-OKeefes-Computer:/sw/lib] brianoke% evolution
dyld: evolution version mismatch for library: /sw/lib/libgal-2.0.6.dylib (compatibility version of user: 7.0.0 greater than library's version: 1.0.0)
Trace/BPT trap"
I am stuck here. I removed the link and am hanging out hoping for a solution. All help is appreciated. I have got to learn that updating is not always a good thing (though it sounds as if it would be so!).
Thanks,
Brian
