1) xdvi - how was the problem sorted out 2 years ago?

2) xfig
During the update procedure, every package except xfig updated but there was an error in xfig package update which meant it wasn't built. Then when I tried running xfig, a window came up but then it soon crashed. So I uninstalled xfig using fink commander and tried reinstalling from source and got the same error and couldn't install. Finally, I tried
just downloading the binary which worked.
Now xfig works but I get a few warnings

I finally managed to do it! I manually updated the mirrors and now
the files point to the right addresses. Now I have version 0.80 installed.
I still have a couple of problems with a couple of packages.
1) I could only install xfig as a binary and not from source.

Why?

2) xdvi doesn't seem to have all the fonts and mktexpk doesn't work

I get the following error upon using xdvi to view a dvi file generated by latex.

- mktexpk --mfmode cx --bdpi 300 --mag 'magstep(0)' --dpi 300 cmti10 '>&3'
setsid: Operation not permitted

What version of xdvi is this? This looks like an error that was fixed two years ago. Don't tell us it has come back from the grave :-(
