I have ghostscript installed via the iInstaller and so I tried to install system-ghostscript8. But I was told

You don't have ghostscript version 8.13 installed in /usr/ local. Install
the ghostscript package instead.
/sw/bin/dpkg: error processing /sw/var/cache/apt/archives/system- ghostscript8_8.13-2_darwin-powerpc.deb (--unpack):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/sw/var/cache/apt/archives/system-ghostscript8_8.13-2_darwin- powerpc.deb
E: Sub-process /sw/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Actually the ghostscript version from the iInstaller is newer

[racoon:~] kuddel% which gs
/usr/local/bin/gs
[racoon:~] kuddel% gs --version
8.50
[racoon:~] kuddel%

Can't I use this with the virtual package? Must I really install two different versions?

Thanks

hs
