Thanks for your input. I did a typo, I meant 2.0-11, not 2.1. I
modified the bison.info file on my hard disk's unstable directory to
contain the newer version. I received an email today giving me a howto
link on the fink home page. To solve the problem, I just did a number
change for the version number and I put the new MD5. It installed
properly. Now, time to tame the other packages...

Small correction: 10.3/unstable has bison-2.0-11. Upgrading this to

would then try to persuade the maintainer to update the package. The
maintainer of this particular package has been difficult to join
recently, however.
