This one is fatal. You have to do what it suggests, namely
sudo ranlib /sw/lib/qt3/lib/libqassistantclient.a
Yes, I did run it but still same problem.
Very strange, this is the first time I heard that this doesn't work.
Can you show the two dates that you get from
cd /sw/lib/qt3/lib
date -r `sed -n -e '2,2P' libqassistantclient.a | awk '{print $2}'`
ls -l libqassistantclient.a
