I have a feeling that I'm missing something very basic here (but this is the
'beginners' list and a beginner is what I am!).

I have a new MacBook Pro and I am trying to get the whole Mono suite to run
on it. There are a large number of dependencies so I want something like
Fink to manage them all for me.

However, when I follow the instructions on the Mono page about how to
install it, I get stuck in that I can't see the Mono entry in the Fink
table. I have the unstable option set as well as the crypto one (but I don't
think that is necessary). Gtk-Sharp2 is listed , but it won't build without
Mono.

I've looked in the last few months worth of entries in this list and the
Fink-Users list but I can't see anything about this mentioned - therefore I
guess others are not having the problem.

How can I get Mono listed in the Fink table?

I suppose a more generic question is how do you add 'package X" to Fink (I
can download the Mono sources and try to build it myself, but then I want to
hook the result back into Fink).

Thanks

Susan
