I tried it too now, and got the same error. It seems to me that the 
"fix" that went into autoconf-2.60-4 was never tested. Whoever came up 
with that fix thought that the kde configure script looked at the file 
name. This is not the case; it looks at the output of `autoconf 
--version` which is not influenced by any symlink tricks.

Michael, you'll have to wait until the guys who created this mess clean 
it up completely.
