The dependecy symlink problem with freetype and mono was the cause,

Still autoconf is rather difficult to install. It has stopped
complaining about emacs but emacs -version gives:
GNU Emacs 21.3.50.1
It seems to be a package conflict and I can't remove autoconf2.5
because of the dependencies. The latest message I got was
(Unfortunately it is in Swedish but i've put translations in
paranthesis):
