As these things exist now, i don't believe you're going to see this
happen anytime soon. XCode native projects can compile for either or
both because XCode is set up to make that easy. The typical unix/
linux project doesn't use that part of XCode, so it would take extra
work in the makefile to do it. Note that it is not impossible, as
the Mozilla team has enabled it for their project. However it's not
trivial, so i don't expect this behavior to become widespread.
