I clearly did something dim ...

I built xpdf and chose to use the " ghostscript-fonts: Standard fonts
for Ghostscript" rather than oter options such as " system-
ghostscript8: Placeholder package for manually installed ghostscript
8.13"

When I ran xpdf I got these errors ...

smithp01-5> xpdf mayo\ part\ 2.pdf
Error: No display font for 'Courier'
Error: No display font for 'Courier-Bold'
Error: No display font for 'Courier-BoldOblique'
Error: No display font for 'Courier-Oblique'
Error: No display font for 'Helvetica'
Error: No display font for 'Helvetica-Bold'
Error: No display font for 'Helvetica-BoldOblique'
Error: No display font for 'Helvetica-Oblique'
Error: No display font for 'Symbol'
Error: No display font for 'Times-Bold'
Error: No display font for 'Times-BoldItalic'
Error: No display font for 'Times-Italic'
Error: No display font for 'Times-Roman'
Error: No display font for 'ZapfDingbats'

I had already installed "applesystemfonts" and I'm not clear how I
could be missing such very standard fonts. I think tried installing
various other font-like packages ( x-ghostscript-fonts) without any
effect.

So I tried to remove xpdf and re-build it with a new default choice
for fonts. UNfortunately, fink does not seem to allow me to start
over..

Pointers appreciated, thanks!
