Thanks Torsten. Here's some background: I installed PHP5 from Marc Liyanage's site, and I installed the latest MySQL, and all was well. Then I realilsed that the server I was using had PHP 4. So I needed PHP 4 on my machine to be compatible with it. I was told that I needed fink, which would enable me to switch between PHP 4 and PHP 5. So I deleted the PHP 5 I'd installed, and the MySQL. I think I also deleted the preinstalled MySQL by mistake. So yes, I do have PHP, but I don't know what version it is, and I don't have MySQL. So I need to install whichever version of PHP I don't have, and I need to be able to swap between them. And I want to do this is in a way that is as close to the Unix way as possible. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/installing-php-through-fink-tf2708787.html#a7552618 Sent from the fink-beginners mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
