following a fink selfupdate after getting apple's X installed, I ran
fink update-all and was greeted with the following failure:

/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld: can't locate file for:
-lgcc_s.10.4
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [lipo.NEW] Error 1

Failed: phase compiling: cctools-extra-590.18-1002 failed

I assume some configuration of apple's devtools is out of whack: fink
install vorbis-tools gives me this:

hecking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C
compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 77

Any tips?
