Creating /sw is guaranteed to block the installer, so don't do
that. Are you running the installer as a user with administrative
privileges (i.e. the same user account you used before)?
Once you get Fink installed, try adding the following to your
sources.list:
deb file:/Users/js/www.finkproject.org/bindist 10.4/release main
crypto
deb file:/Users/js/www.finkproject.org/bindist 10.4/current main
crypto
in analogy with what Fink uses for access to its remote
repository. "man sources.list" will have more information for you.
Thanks for your reply.
I am trying to install Fink as user with administration righs but
keep the same error message. I don' t know enough about the macbook
to know whether or how to remove all possible traces of a previous
installation other that removing /sw.
At the moment I am stuck.
