Dear Fink Beginners, I have been trying unsuccessfully to install the General User Documentation for Gnome, gnome-user-docs, with the following results:-
Install twice failed with the answer detailed below:- fink-0.28.5-11 installed. Mac System OS X 10.3.9 Panther installed. /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait -r fink-buildlock-gdbm3-1.8.3-2 (Reading database ... 7656 files and directories currently installed.) Removing fink-buildlock-gdbm3-1.8.3-2 ... Failed: directory y/gdbm3-1.8.3-2/gdbm-1.8.3 doesn't exist, check the package description. The Y Directory detailed above would appear to be located in my Home folder whereas sw is located on my Hard Disc. As the two items listed in the Failure appeared my Home folder I have transferred them, (gdbm3-1.8.3-2/gdbm-1.8.3), to the Y Folder which is contained on my Hard Disk. I then ran the install procedure again only to find that the process once again failed. As I am a novice could anyone kindly advice me what I am doing wrong? Kind regards, David. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [email protected] http://news.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.fink.beginners
