I am attempting to install gnucash 2.2.9 on my old Mac OS X 10.4.11
PowerPc. I am new to mac, with most of my previous experience on
Ubuntu. After almost 2 weeks of re-installing and googling errors I
am still empty-handed.
I installed X-code, version 2.5:
Component versions
Xcode IDE: 799.0
Xcode Core: 798.0
ToolSupport: 794.0
I have X11 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0
$ fink -V
Package manafer version: 0.29.9
Distribution version: selfupdate-cvs Thu Oct 1 23:56:04 2009, 10.4 powerpc
I have succeeded in installing gnucash 1.8, but I need version 2.2 to
work with my old files from the Ubuntu system. I have tried both
MacPorts and fink, with no success yet. Most recently I have tried
the following:
$ fink selfupdate
$ fink scanpackages
$ fink update -all
$ gnucash

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and
try again. If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the
FAQ on fink's website solves the problem. If not, ask on the fink-users
or fink-beginners mailing lists, with a carbon copy to the maintainer:
Dave Reiser <[email protected]>
Note that this is preferable to emailing the maintainer directly, since
most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.
