I had the same problem and I can confirm, that running 
/sw/opt/kde4/mac/bin/kbuildsycoca4 fixes it, but only after running it a second 
time. The first run generates the output attached by Stéphane, the 2nd run 
mostly threw out a gazillion lines in the style of:
 "kbuildsycoca4(30458) KBuildSycoca::createEntry: new: 
"application/andrew-inset.xml""
for the differnet mimetypes.

Don't know if this is intended behaviour of kbuildsycoca4, just wanted to 
document it here for other people having this problem.
