A URL would be helpful. If you're referring to http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/cpan-meta-yaml-pm note that OS 10.4 is not supported any more by the project at all. _No_ packages have a 10.4 entry. I'm assuming that you're on 10.4 based on the "586"s. > I've downloaded and installed this file, but Fink still complains. > I'm not sure what needs to be done to make Fink aware of the > files.... If you downloaded cpan-meta-yaml-pm.info from the above page, that has to be placed somewhere in your Fink tree for Fink to see it. /sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo is normally a good place. > > Here's this list: ibnzayd$ sudo find / -iname YAML.pm -print > /Library/Perl/5.8.6/CPAN/Meta/YAML.pm > /Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/CPAN/Meta/YAML/YAML.pm > > /Library/Perl/5.8.6/Module/Build/YAML.pm > /Library/Perl/5.8.6/Test/YAML.pm /Library/Perl/5.8.6/YAML.pm > /sw/lib/perl5/Test/YAML.pm /sw/lib/perl5/YAML.pm > /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6/CPAN/Meta/YAML.pm > /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6/TAP/Parser/Result/YAML.pm > > a kdump reveals: 2353 perl NAMI > "/sw/lib/perl5/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/YAML/Tag.pmc" 2353 > perl NAMI > "/sw/lib/perl5/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/YAML/Tag.pm" 2353 > perl NAMI "/sw/lib/perl5/5.8.6/YAML/Tag.pmc" 2353 perl > NAMI "/sw/lib/perl5/5.8.6/YAML/Tag.pm" 2353 perl NAMI > "/sw/lib/perl5/darwin-thread-multi-2level/YAML/Tag.pmc" 2353 perl > NAMI "/sw/lib/perl5/darwin-thread-multi-2level/YAML/Tag.pm" 2353 > perl NAMI "/sw/lib/perl5/YAML/Tag.pmc" 2353 perl NAMI > "/sw/lib/perl5/YAML/Tag.pm" > > On a side note, attempting a clean install from cpan gives this: > > cpan[1]> clean YAML > Reading '/Users/ibnzayd/.cpan/Metadata' Database was generated on > Wed, 08 Feb 2012 19:12:14 GMT Running clean for module 'YAML' > Running make clean Distribution seems to have never been > unzipped/untarred, nothing done > > > Any help is greatly appreciated. > > Daniel > (It's Meta::YAML) Your problem is due to the fact that the EOL'ed 10.4 distribution has been receiving updates, but this one got missed. cc'ing the keeper of 10.4-EOL. - -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison http://finkakh.wordpress.com/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk8zuO0ACgkQB8UpO3rKjQ9mpwCfXB7FDr3EfJBbZwjr+G+fzCKq 4GIAnRcdVxhEVgev7fHQPCe47QSMbHRd =8UTK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Virtualization & Cloud Management Using Capacity Planning Cloud computing makes use of virtualization - but cloud computing also focuses on allowing computing to be delivered as a service. http://www.accelacomm.com/jaw/sfnl/114/51521223/ _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list Fink-beginners@lists.sourceforge.net List archive: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.fink.beginners Subscription management: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
