I don't want to hijack this thread (I will start my own thread,
depending of your answer). Only one question:

***did you succeed to compile ImageMagick?***

I tried since a long while already. Fink fails with pango1, at a quite
early point of the install.

Then I tried with my different Perls on my Mac; the Apple Perl (if I
remember well 5.12) and all Perls under Perlbrew (perl-5.16.3,
perl-5.19.1) with no avail.
