What do you get from  "ls /usr/bin/*cc* /usr/bin/*++*"?

The problem is that your build thinks it needs to use g++-4.2, but that 
isn't supposed to be present for any Xcode command-line tools supported 
on 10.8.

If you have a /usr/bin/gcc-4.2, e.g. due to having upgraded from an 
earlier OS X or manually creating one, the qt3 build detects that and 
then also tries to use g++-4.2.
