Builds fine on 10.9 as well.
On a related note, this unlocks xalan-j, but it fails to build as well:
serializer.compile:
[echo] Compiling the Serializer
[javac] Compiling 84 source files to
/sw/src/fink.build/xalan-j-2.7.1-1/xalan-j_2_7_1/build/serializer
[javac] javac: target release 1.5 conflicts with default source release 1.7
