Thanks so much all you Finkers, the fix worked well and Terminator installed ok. There seems to be a few little issues with the implementation but on the whole, it works.
The main issue that I can see is that I can’t get the preferences to save my default window layout :( The right click works to be able to split the windows but the preferences dialog won’t come up.
