Removing and reinstalling Fink generally leads folks back to the exact same 
problem that they were already having, _unless_ some other change was also 
made.  

I’m not sure why I can’t reproduce this—though the Yosemite setup I used was a 
developer preview update, so it might not be identical to the release setup.
