That should be more something like "Depending on barN itself is 
deprecated. It is possible for backward compatibility, but should be 
avoided in new revision of your package".
Well, use a better phrasing, but I hope you get the idea :)

That is not really necessary. Since barN depends on barN-shlibs, it 
automatically "inherits" all depends/conflicts fields from barN-shlibs



There may be more issues or not, but I don't have time now to read 
carefully through it. Overall seems you done a good job. 8-)
