FinkCommander now has its own repository on SourceForge. You can access
it by anonymous CVS as follows:

cvs
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/finkcommander
login

cvs -z3
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/finkcommander
co FinkCommander

Thanks to Ben Hines, who showed me the error of my ways when it came to
the spinning cursor on startup, FC now runs the startup perl script
asynchronously, eliminating that particular problem.

The "/sw" directory is no longer hard-coded as the fink base path. FC
attempts to locate the user's base path for fink and as a fail-safe
allows the user to enter it manually in the new preferences panel.

I have started the process of refactoring the code to make it easier to
plug in IPC using the Security Framework for authentication and/or to
use the Objective C-Perl bridge, when it becomes available. I plan to
move all of the code that actually runs the fink commands to a separate
class and provide an implementation-independent interface.

The Project Builder documentation folder includes some of the features I
would eventually like to add.

If you are interested in joining the developer's list, which currently
consists of one amateur coder who is in way over his head, contact me.
