Brian: I don't think you need the "No fortran" option - the vanilla LAM-MPI package could depend on g77, the LAM-MPI-absoft variant could depend on system-fortran. I think absoft has the capability of linking g77 libs, so in theory you could get away with one package. Unfortunately, I've never been able to get this to work.
