One development I'm looking forward to eventually seeing in fink is when all shared libraries can be built "prebound", I read briefly here that some work is in progress to this end.
Definately make note of "prebound shared libraries" on your milestones list, IMHO this will be a huge accomplishment. (Don't know of any ETA or what is needed to help finish the project).
