Well, after the great help from Benjamin Reed, and a little patching of the 
acinclude.m4.in file (and learning NOT to use 
--prefix=SOMETHING_OTHER_THAN_WHERE_KDE_IS_INSTALLED), I got Kmymoney2 to compile just 
fine. It was really rather painless.

Soon (after I learn how to make a Fink package) I'll upload the package to the 
unstable tree and people can try it out. I have some screen shots at 
http://kmymoney.sf.net/images/screens.
