And I would like to add that I never saw a discussion, or at least a
formal announcement for this new CVS dir on fink-devel.

I apologize. I did informally poll a couple of the fink developers on #fink yesterday, and I think (although I'm not 100% sure) that I even discussed the idea with you a few weeks ago. The only objection I heard was that some developers questioned whether there would ever be enough ruby modules to warrant a separate directory. My reasoning was:

- I am planning to port a substantial number of additional ruby modules in the near future.
- ruby modules, like perl modules, tend to have names which are very similar to the package they are interfacing to (imlib2-rb vs. imlib2), so
having them in a separate directory would make it easier to tell them apart.

As Ben said, I was planning to ask you first, but when it appeared around bedtime yesterday that you were not going to be around, I decided to go ahead & ask for forgiveness instead of permission.

It does, the "Type" value is new. Hence the package must build depend
on the first fink version to support this feature. Which in this case
is a not release version of fink... strictly spoken this package
shouldn't even be in CVS at this point, but rather should've been
delayed till at least some version of fink with ruby support got
released.... But done is done, so at least add the BuildDepends field,
please.

Thanks! What version should I use in BuildDepends?

Matthias
