I assumed that Dan was going to do this only for .info files which begin "InfoN: <<", meaning zero cleanup required. I may be misreading things though, it is late and I'm tired.

Hi Dan. This sounds good to me. But do we have any idea how many .info files are still using this deprecated style? One of the problems in recent months has been with maintainers who are no longer with us... A change like this will eventually require a "cleanup" by some person or group who goes through all existing .info files, so I'm just curious about the magnitude of that task.

Supporting this style makes it impossible to include fields for which leading whitespace is significant within a heredoc. For now, this mainly applies to python InstallScript in a SplitOff. Given that we settled on 'InfoN: <<' blocks for future incompatible .info files, this will apply to even top-level fields in those files.
