Hi:

I am trying to put together a new version of the fink ccp4 package (unstable/sci) and am having some problems.

I've written a shell script to install the program, and it works fine. I then used this as the basis for updating my previous (functioning) ccp4.info file, and I get a configure error that says I don't have a working cc compiler. Somehow a test that succeeds in my shell script file fails when I embed the script within fink.

The current version has zsh in both cases, but I can change this to tcsh or sh and the problem persists. I also explicitly ran the shell as my login within the fink script just to see if some hidden variable was changed, but this too made no difference. I am at a complete loss.

If there is anyone who might be willing to have a look at this, I would be very grateful.

Be forewarned that if you try to run the ccp4.info, it will force you to compile the latest fortran compiler first, which takes a while (and is well worth it because it avoids previous seg faulting problems).

The zsh script that works is here:

The corresponding fink ccp4.info script that fails the compiler test is here:

Many thanks in advance for advice.

Bill Scott
