Hello,

Attached is a copy of the info file for tylers-file-cmds. The package
contains a modified version of cp which notably includes a progress
meter and bandwidth calculation. I am the developer of that package
and I look forward to maintaining it on fink as well. I hope that the
info file is up to standard, if not, please inform me of my errors so
I can fix them.

Thank you,

Weird, I just saw this on Freshmeat and thought "Gee, maybe I should make a fink package for this."

The normal way to submit a package to fink is to use the submission tracker at http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=414256&group_id=17203 so that it's easy for developers to, well, keep track of them. :) A package submission is easily lost on the mailing list.

The info file looks OK, but you don't need to manually create the %i/share/doc/%n folder and copy files to it; use the DocFiles field instead and fink will do the rest. Like so:

DocFiles: README BUGS COPYING

You might also want to include a DescDetail field with some more information about the package, and the Description field should be no more than 45 characters. Be sure to run fink validate on the .info file and resulting .deb file. Very good for a first try!
