thanks for the tip, after reinstalling the gcc3.1 pckage most errors went away, but the package gnomemeeting still does not compile:
In file included from gnomemeeting.cpp:55: ../lib/widgets/history-combo.h:61: 'GtkCombo' is used as a type, but is not defined as a type.
Usually, this kind of error is a consequence of some earlier error, some file not found or something. You should always quote the output starting from at least the last complete compiler command line.
